Message to the New England Federation of Humane Societies Members and Conference Attendees:

I am writing this to you as the President of the New England Federation of Humane Societies to deliver the unfortunate news that our conference scheduled for April 4th to the 6th in Nashua N.H. is now canceled due to concerns surrounding the Covid-19 outbreak. The situation around this virus is constantly evolving and we have to take into account the safety of our attendees and their organizations. The Federation Board has been in talks with the City of Nashua and the State of New Hampshire Health and Human Services about the potential safety risks, and they agree that it may not be safe to hold large gatherings at this time.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have on your travel plans and hope that this has given you enough time to adjust your plans and cancel any reservations. Your safety is our biggest concern.

We have an Conference Cancellation FAQ page with more information about the cancellation and how refunds will be processed.

The 2021 NEFED conference is scheduled for Hartford CT from April 10th to the 12th. We will see you all then.

Sincerely,

Liam Hughes

President, New England Federation of Humane Societies

Director, Maine Animal Welfare Program
