Jointly sponsored by the New England Federation of Humane Societies and the MSPCA at Nevins Farm, this one-day workshop brings together individuals and agencies with a vested interest in the welfare of horses in our community. The seminar includes five presentations by equine authorities from New England:
- Starting a Hay Bank for Horse Owners in Need, presented by Mary Martin, New England Equine Rescue North (NEER North)
- Triage for Incoming Horses, presented by Dr. Brian Parrott, DVM, Parrott Equine Associates, LLC
- Behavior Evaluation of Incoming Horses, presented by Kathryn Poltak, MSPCA Equine & Farm Animal Center
- Behavior Modification for Incoming Horses, presented by Claudia Lauze, Trainer
- Rehabilitating Neglected Hooves, presented by by Dr. Carl Kirker-Head, VetMB, MA, DACVS, DEC, at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University
