Have you ever thought “I’ll never be able to go to a conference! My group is too small, and never has money to send people to conferences.”? This is your year! Scholarships for the New England Federation of Humane Societies’ annual conference are NEW & IMPROVED for 2019, thanks to a grant from the John T. and Jane A. Wiederhold Foundation!
Scholarship recipients for the 2019 conference (March 30-April 1, 2019 in Warwick, RI) will receive:
- FREE conference registration (includes breakfast and lunch each day!)
- FREE hotel room, if needed
- PAID mileage to attend the conference, if needed
The Wiederhold Foundation specifically wants to help people from smaller organizations, who aren’t usually able to send people to the conference. They’ve requested that scholarships be granted primarily to people who work for organizations with an annual budget of $500,000 or less, and which have not sent any people to the conference in the past 3 years.
So if you have always wanted to go, but thought only people at the big organizations get to do awesome things like go to conferences – apply!!

FAQs
Q: I work for an organization with a budget larger than $500,000 per year, or has sent a person to the conference in the past 3 years. Can I still apply for a scholarship?
A: Yes, you can. However, scholarships are more likely to be awarded to applicants whose organizations meet both of the grantor’s guidelines.
Q: I work for an organization with a budget of less than $500,000 per year, and nobody’s gone to the Fed conference in a dog’s age! Can only one person apply from each organization?
